ville visited Mr. and Mrs. G. T.

home last Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Boulden
drove over to Dallas, Monday
having business that called them
that way.
M. Sacre and son, Albert came
down from Portland Monday to
take charge and look after Mr.
Sacre's property here for the
summer.
Among the items coming in too
late for publication last week was
notice of Mrs. A. Mable Davis
return from visiting friends and
relatives at Albany.
Mrs. A. B. Morlan and daugh
ter who have been visiting rela
tives in Iowa for the past few
months are expected to arrive
home next Sunday or Monday.
C. H. Ebbe and wife are look
ing for their son-in-law and
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. H.
Brooks, of Fresno, California to
arrive in a few days to visit with
them until Mr. Ebbe and wife go
East.

need of which is so greatly felt
by our local militia company, or
any other company that maybe
organized. The erection of this
building will do much toward
making this an unusually active
season in building circles, and
giveplentj of work for all; be
sides bringing in ' considerable
skilled laborers to reside with us.
It will also assist in giving our
new brick factory a good start.
The building of four new bricks
this season is going to make
things hum without any question,
besides improving our town as it
has never before been improved

Judge William Galloway Held
Session of Court Last Week

To Build Armory At Dallas
Captain W L Tooze is in re
ceipt of a letter from General W.
E. Finzer assuring him of $7,
500 from the state for the build
ing of an armory in Dallas. The
plan is to erect one costing $15
000. Half of this amount will be
given by the state, and the bal
ance divided in equal parts be
tween the county of Polk and the
city of Dallas. The matter of
the city's appropriating its share
will be voted upon at the coming
election in April. It is nearly
certain that the citizens of Dal
las will give their unqualified
approval in this matter, and that
