a visit to his son, J. E. Winegar
and family, of this place remain

D. Jones passed through town

ing his family back to Monmouth

which place they had gone last
fall to school the children
On account of our typo getting
sick last week we missed getting
some items into print, and among
these was the sale of the Mulkey
brick building to Robert Steel.
Mr. Steel is further improving
his purchase by the erection of a
warehouse, 32x48 feet, which he
is having erected back of his
building for the convenience of
Muscott's store and the Pharma
cy. The warehouse will be a
wooden structure, one story in
height.
Social Evening on the Yachats
The young people of the Ya
chats have organized a dramatic
club for the purpose of up-building
the community socially and
the benefit educationally of each
member.
Among the entertainments giv
en by the club was a "Basket
Social," which took place Satur
day night, April 23, 1910. A
good program was rendered, two
nf the niimhprs hpintr fnrops. one i
given by eight boys dressed as
"Coons," the other a "Woman's
Rights Meeting" by four girls.
The baskets, which were very
very unique, sold well. Clam
soup was served with the supper
after which a short time was
spent in playing games.
Thirty-five dollars and thirty-
five cents was realized from the i
sale of the baskets. This goes to ,
build a hall which is to be used
for all social occasions as well as
for the club lays and regular
meetings. -
Mary Murphy is teaching a
Summer school on the beach at
the mouth of the Yachats. She
has just completed a six month's
term on the Yachats and is now
teaching the most western school :
in the Unied States.
(Our correspondent is some
what mistaken as to the most
Western school in the U. S. Cur
ry county holds that honor, and
can beat Yachats by about twenty-two
miles or near that-Ed.)

Burch Kop yard, it is ordeged
that said conmpany appear in this
court on May 25, at 10 a- m., to
show cause why such poles
should not be moved to the side
of said road so as not to interfere
with public travel or with the
proper working of said road.
