ance. Grandpa Darling has recovered
so far from his severe illness as

Mrs. Akins and children are
spending the week in the prune
orchard gathering prunes for
past time.
The Misses Irene and Cecil
Dodd and their brother Perry,
left last Thursday for Corvallis
to enter school.
J. C. Reynolds has purchased
the William Zook farm which lies
three miles west of town and
contains 84 acres.
Burton Arant has closed his
musical work at this place to take
advantage of the scholarship he
won at Forest Grove.
Mrs. Merton Ellis and Mrs.
Boughey left for Hood River last
Monday, to attend the W. C. T.
U. convention as delegates from
this place.
The membership of the Chris
tian church was augmented Sun
day evening by the additon of
two noble young men who united
therewith.
G. E. Thompson and wife left
for their home inBelding, Mich.,
Monday, having spent the sum-
mer here visiting his brother, M.
L. Thompson.
N. A. Emmett and wife have
moved back to Falls City. We
are all glad to welcome them
back and hope they may see fit J
to remain for years to come.
Rev, Paull and wife left last
Friday for their new field of labor
at Crawfordsville. We are sorry
to lose them but can only wish
them abundant succes in their
work.
Rev. LaDow preached at Black
Rock last Sunday. He learned
to walk when a child and has not
yet forgotten the art, and when
it is not convenient to ride he
goes afoot.

tended, as was also the Booster
meeting in the hall in the even
ing, many not being able to get
seats.
Members of the Christian
church and their friends will give
a reception to the teachers of the
public school in the church here
Thursday evening. Everybody
is invited to attend and get ac
quainted with the school instruct
ors. Refreshments will be ser
ved. School began here the 4th with
a large attendance. The teach
ers are all well pleased with the
town and bright prospect for the
work before them. They are all
strangers to the citizens of Falls
City except Miss Mollie Morrison,
but we trust and hope that they
may be as successful here as they
nave uetn elsewhere.
