Mr. Belieu and wife have gone
to Salem to spend Thanksgiving
with their daughter, Miss Mary,
who will accompany them home.
Rev. A. H. Dodd received
Word Saturday, , from Corvallis
that his daughter Cecil, was dan
gerously ill; he left at once for
that city.

prised their new pastor and wife
Tuesday evening. Refreshments
were served.
Miss Ethel Tooze has returned
from Eugene, where she has been
attending school, at the U. of 0.
and will spend Thanksgiving
with her parents and friends at
Falls City.
Twenty years ago a man could
work out in the rain all day with
out getting wet, but it is differ
ent now. Then it would rain in
a gentle drizzle all day long, but
now it pours down in torrents at
times. Then we would scarcely
see the sun more than . two or
three times in a month, now we
seldom have more than a day or
two without sunshine. There
fore we should try to dispel the
idea that this is a rainy country,
for there are many places where
there is a greater rainfall during
the year.
