farm Wednesday purchasing sup
plies. As this is his first winter
on the farm he has to buy all oi
his supplies, but wait till next
fall and he will be selling to

known dentist of Independence,
is installing two of the latest
dental appliances in his office, an
electric engine and a lathe.
S. T. Sanders arrived from
Montague, Californis on the Air
lie moter Wednesday afternoon,
for a visit with his daughter,
Mrs. W. W. Newman. He is also
a brother of Mrs. R. McReynolds.
His coming was a pleasant sur
prise to his relatives here.
Karl Gardner writes from Hood
River that he is more than ever
nleased with the country up there.
Says that he can pack seventy
boxes of apples a day. 1 he I run
is fine and an enormous crop, one
man expects to pack 25,000 boxes.
The packing season will last till
near Christmas. This is Karl's
third season up there and he is
presumably becoming an expert
at the business.
McKinney, both young people of
Lewisville, were guests at the
Fishback home Sunday.
Mrs. Elizabeth Fishback and
her youngest daughter Letta,
visited with Mrs. Emma Heck
in Independence Friday.
George Bingham lately from
Idaho, but now of Independence,
was in these parts Friday look
ing after business interests.
Edward Huber and Paul Mumma
of Monmouth were in our midst

of the valley and the beautiful
