Lafe Johnson, who has been suffer
ing for some time with rheumatism, is
slowly improving.
Welch and Cody have cut a consid
erable quantity of wood for R. M.
Bosley.
J. P. Walker and family have mov
ed into their new house. It is fin
ished all but painting and papering,
Mr. Comstock has purchased a new
sawmill and will operate it on the old
Bressler ranch.
The county has put in a new bridg
across the Butler slough.
Welch and Cody are clearing some
land on their places purchased of R.
M. Bosley.
Mi-, and Mrs. Elmer Allen visited
relatives in Carlton last week.
RICKREALL
A good many of the Rickreall folk,
especially the children, are spending
their Christmas vacation with an at
tack of measles and with some it is
more than an attack, a regular siege.
The few well pupils will probably be
grunted a little longer vacation. The
Christmas program which was badly
broken into by sickness, was given on
Jriduy, December 22, and the Christ
mas tree enjoyed by all tn children
I ti sent.
Miss Grace Porter, intermediate
teacher, who res-igned sometime ago
U accept a position in the county su
perintendent's office under Mr. Crow
ley, has moved to Dallas. Mr. Rey
nolds, former county superintendent,
has been elected to take Miss Porter's
place.
The parents of Mrs. H. C. Wright,
who live at Dayton, spent Christmas
here at the Wright home.
Miss Verena Lucas of the normal,
is spending her vacation at her grand
father's home, Mrs. S. T. Burch.
Miss Mabel Craven, another normal
student, is enjoying the holidays with
her parents and grandmother.
Glen Brown, also or the normal, is
home for his vacation.
Mr. and Mrs. Bert Adams and four
children of Perrydale, spent Christ
mas with Mrs. Adams' parents, Mr.
and Mrs. I. Dempsey. Mrs. Adams
and children remained for several
days' visit.

Mrs. M Thurston, who has been
visitine her son, J. J. Thurston, is
now visiting relatives in Corvallis.
