PARENT-TEACHER PICNIC.
Athletic Contests to Feature Eola
Gathering.
A Harvest Home picnic will be held
in a beautiful grove on the river bank
near Eola on Saturday, August 21,
unaer me auspices or the .Eola Par
ent-Teacher association.- Governor
Withycombe is confidently expected
to be present at 11 o'clock to deliver
an address. Good musie including
eongregational singing of patriotic
and other popular songs and the fdl
lowing program of contests and races
will be held:
Race for boys under six, race for
girls under six, potato race for girls
between eight and twelve years, pota
to race for boys between eight and
twelve years, sack race, three-legged
race, wheelbarrow race, cracker eat
ing contest, pillow fight, obstacle
race, tug of war, bun eating contest,
high jump, standing broad iumb. ball
throwing contest for ladies, swimming
ana diving contests. A general invi
tation is extended. Uome with well
filled baskets and enjoy the day.
