It was a pitch ers battle all the way between Par ham for Dallas and Myers for Salem with the former getting away with the biggest end of th9 matinee. Barbam was in great form and whiffed 10 of the visitors, holding; them down to two scattered hits. Myers also bad the locals guessing and the only Dal las men to connect safely were Fen ton and E. Harham. The feature of the game was the fact that in seven innings, only 21 men faced Parhatn. In the first half of the eighth, "Har ney" crawled out of a very small hole when, with men on second and third and nobody down, and handling a s!ipery ball, he retired the follow ing three men on strikes. That the cities in California where the Ellison-White Chautauqua com pany has already held their assem blies, are very much pleased with the programs and the success of the meetings, is proven by the many en thusiastic telegrams which have been pouring in upon the head office in Portland during the past two weeks.
