The debating teams of the Falls City High school will compete with teams from Lebanon and Corvallis ' January 12, on the text book ques tion. This is the same question that was debated in the county league last vear. Falls City defeated Cor- inter-district debate by Lebanon. What is said to have been the best play ever presented in this city was Hie 'hiima "Borderland" given by ih-j "Ell Dee" society of the public school last Friday evening. Th? :in precedented success was greatly due to the natural adaptability of the players to their respected roles. It s the intention of the society to present a number of plays this sea son. A few of the Salt Creek talented singers rendered their famous "Johnny Smoker" song at the Christmas entertainment and it was highly appreciated by all.
