The committee on resolutions gave
the following report which was adopt
ed:
'To The Teacher's Association of
Polk County: We, your committee on
resolutions beg to submit the follow
ing:
"Resolved, that we beliovo In the
mission of the teacher as a paramount
interest to the welfare of the Stale, In
that we begin the education of Its fu
ture citizens in the public schools.
"That we believe the State ought to
furnish ample opportunity for the
teachers to prepare themselves for this
Important work.
"That we hereby express our appre
ciation of the most excellent instruc
tion furnished us by Superintendent
J. H. Ackerman, Mr. II. A. Adrain,
and the other Instructors of the Insti
tute. That we express our thanks hereby
to the good citizens of Dallas for their
kind hospitality.
"That we commend the work of our
Superintendent Seymour for his un
tlrlnir efforts to Improve the schools
of our county and we recommend rlint
all the schools take part In the spell
ins contests to be held during the year,
also that each teacher endeavor as far
as possible to carry out the directions
of Superintendent Seymour with re
gard to school sanitation.
'That our thanks are extended to
the Board of Directors of the public
schools of Dallas for the use of their
school building for this meeting."
School Officers' Meeting.
The annual School Officers' Conven
tion which was held in Dallas on Sat
urday was not as well attended as
some In the past, but over forty dis
tricts were represented and the Inter
est was eood. Had the day not been
one on which every farmer thought
he must work, and had It been rainy,
every school district in the county
would have been represented.
