An important part (more Important
than many persons would imagine) is
played for the success or failure of a
big celebration, by the appearance of
the streets and dwelling houses of a
city on the day of the event.
Hundreds of strangers are visiting
the city on such an occasion, many of
them for the first time, and the im

for Monster Two Days' Celebra
tion in Dallas.
The citizenship of Dallas, from the
extreme of youth to the extreme of old
age may now indulge In agreeable
visions of two days of festivity the
equal or which has not before been
seen in this city, for the plans are
outlined and from this date forth
preparations will be rushed for the
big celebration of the Polk County
Pioneers' lieu n ion and the Fourth of
July celebration, which is to held here
on Friday and Saturday, July 2 and 3.
Arrangements have already been
made securing the grounds on Mill
and onelton streets where the carni
val was held last year and on the
campus and grounds about Dallas
college. At these places the attrac
tions of the celebration will be gath
ered.
Saturday, the day of the celebration
of the Fourth of J uly, will be opened
with one of the grandest pageants
that has ever been witnessed in Polk
county. All of the lodges, business
houses, social and fraternal organiza
tions in Dallas will participate and
an effort will be made to arrange for
the entry of many floats representing
the lodges and business houses of
other important cities of the county.
