The way to build up Dallas is to pat- ramie Dallas people. Boy Painfully Injured. Herrio McNulty, the 6 year-old sou of Mike McNulty, a prosperous fruit farmer of Tolk Station, wag painfully injured by falling from the upper floor of big father's parn' Wednesday afternoon. The child struck on the side of bis face and the force of the fall caused hi it! to bite his tongue almost off. Drs. McCalloo and Boll man were summoned from Dallas and the boy's Injuries were attended to at once, it being necessary to take several stitches in his tongue. It is thought that he will fully recover, and will suffer no permanent inconvenience from his rather unusual injury. Residents on Court street between Main and Church, are having all water pipes and sewer connections that must cross the street, laid at once, since the plowing and grading preparatory to macadamizing will be commenced on that block within a very short time. All of these pipes being laid, there will be no need of A Sustaining: Diet. These are tbeenervating days, when, as somebody has said, men drop by the sunstroke as if the Day of Fire had dawned. Tbey are fraught with danger to people whose systems are poorly sustained ; and this leads us to say, in the interest of the less robust of our readers, 'that the full effect of Hood's Sarsaparilla is such as to Bug- gest the propriety of calling this medi cine something besides a blood purifier and tonic, say, a sustaining diet. It makes it much easier to bear the beat, assures refreshing sleep, and will without any doubt avert much sick cess at this time of year. Tbe Story of a Medicine. Flsbwbeels as a means of depleting the salmon supply of the Columbia Klver, will be abolished with the close of the present season, August 23, and the bill which puts the gillnetters of the lower Columbia out of business, will become operative after Heptomber 10. This condition will practically reduoe the industry of salmon catch ing to the primitive method of the hook and line, and while the gillnet ters and wheelmen are howling unre strainedly over this unexpected out come of their efforts to secure the whip hand over each other, the long suffer ing and much harried salmon will perhaps have an opportunity to recu perate, In a measure, from the effects of the wholesale and wasteful Ashing of the past. In cases of this kind one Is Inclined to believe after all In that mysterious 'force called "poetic justice."
