Classes or Duuaing material are more
than sufficient to supply the present
demands. Dealers everywhere are
making concessions to secure business,
this being especially true of the lum
bermen, glass makers, hardware
dealers, brick and stone men, and of
producers of almost every article that
enters Into the construction of dwell
lags, stores and office buildings.
No loss an authority than tho Amor
loan Lumberman Is responsible for
the assertion that muterlul anil labor
can be secured on more advantageous
terms now than at any other time
within the last five years, and prob
ably more cheaply than will be pos
Bible at any time after 1008. Mills
all parts of the country are being
operated under reduced schedule, and
some of them are closed down entirely,
lhe workman who manned those
Institutions are anxious for work and
under present conditions will give
greater and better service for loss
money now than tboy have been accus
tomed to give In the past. Money Is
as pientirul as ever In tho westorn
banks, and Is easier In tho enntern
states. A Chlcugo bank Issues tho
statement that a real estate loan made
late in May at 4J per cent was sold
tnreedays artor it was mado. This
bank Is making loaus every day tit 5
per cent, and predicts that will be the
current rate in tho Middle West very
soon.
luls year a great deal of lumber
has .been sold at prices that did not
yield sufllclent tp cover tho actual com
of producing the stock, and prices at
tho present time range from $i to 10
bolow last year's schedules. Shingles
are bringing 1.20 to 1.30 a thousund
bolow last year's level, and mlllwork
and other kinds of building material
also are being offered at bargain
prices.
A moment's refleotlou will convince
anyone that it Is a pretty safe thing to
buy at prices which represent merely
the cost of production. According to
the Lumberman, the railroads and
other heavy cousumers must soon
come Into the market, and tho Inntunt
they do prices are going to advance
10 to US percent, and tho Individual
who delayed building in the hope of
securing evon better terms is going to
d lert.
sports will re indulged in every after
noon. A kindergarten for the care of
children will be established.
For farther information, it is advis
able to write to H. E. Cross, Secre
tary, who will send a beautiful sou
venlr program.
