The publio school year for 1907 and
1908 closed today, the term just ended
being most successful, both in regard
to the attendance and -to the work
accomplished.
Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Shultz were
summoned to Seattle, Sunday after
noon by news of the Illness of their
son, Earl, who went to that city to see
the battleships.
The Rickreall orchestra will give a
dance at the Rickreall hall Friday
night after the school plcnio. Excel
lent music has been prepared for the
occasion, and a large crowd is antici
pated. The Monmouth baseball team
defeated the Dallas nine Saturday
afternoon by a score of 5 to 1. The
game was hard and interesting and
was witnessed by a large crowd of
people.
Miss Anna Simson left yesterday for
Washington, after an extended visit
at the home of her brother, W. S. Sim
son. She will spend a short time
among relatives in that state after
which she will leave for her home in
Minneapolis.
