"I dldn't,"8ay8 Fulton. "You did,
says Heney. "I am Irinooent or any
wronff-dolDg, and you are a liar,"
replies Fulton. "That's what Mitchell
and Abe Kuef and Mayor Hchmltz
said," retorts Heney. And so It goes.
The accusations made against Senator
Fulton by the noted land fraud prose
cutor are of a very grave nature, and
now that Mr. Fulton has defied his
accuser to make good, the people of
Oregon are anxiously awaiting Mr.
Henoy's next move. If the accusations
are untrue, Mr. Fulton has been made
the victim of a crave injustice: if
thoy are true, Mr. Fulton is not a
proper person to represent Oregon In
the United Htates Henato. It is now
up to Mr. Heney to toil what he knows,
if he knows anything. As the Ore
gonlan remarked yesterday, the people
of Oregon have a right to know all
about the origin and basis of these
accusations, and if Mr. Heney has
any more documents to present, or
deductions from those already pre
sented that will throw further light on
these matters, It is his duty to give
them to the public.
