FREE LIBRARY IS POPULAR
Circulation of Books in January Nearly
50 Per Cent Greater Than in
December.
During the month of January, the
total circulation of books at the public
library was 884, divided as follows
Fiction, 445; non-flction,G5; children's
books, 274; traveling library books,
110. This shows an increased clrcu
lation over December of almost 50 per
cent, which la very gratifying to those
in charge. 410 cards have been Issued
to readers, and new ones are issued
every day. From this it will readily
be seen that fully one-fourth of the
people of Dallas are making good use
of the library. Many families living
out of town three or four miles drive
In regularly for books when they do
their shopping.

people lost their lives, yet more than
five times this number or over 3,000
people died from pneumonia in Chicago
