Orders were placed by the Southern
Pacific this week for 450,000 railroad
ties for use in the construction of the
brauch from Tonopah to Goldflelds.
They will be shipped, direct from Port
land. It is explained by lumbermen
that the Oregon ties are sought after
because they last much longer in the
desert country.
A Philadelphia paper has gathered
statistics which show that woman's
chances to marry between the ages of
25 and 30 are only is per cent, while
between 20 and 25 the chances in her
favor are 52 per cent Apparently it
is rather dangerous to say "no" to
the first man.
