Ought, it would seem, to give exemption from the dise.ises which prey upon the residents of thickly populated cities. But there is-:io exemption from disease, and in the country, as in the city, one may see the cheeks grow hollow aniVthe eyes grow dull while the frame wastes away with that terrible disease, con sumption. Weak lungs are made strong by the use of Dr. 1'ierce's Golden Medical Dis covery. It cures obstinate and stubborn coughs, bronchitis, bleeding of the lungs and other symptoms which, if neglected or unsUUi'ully treated, terminate fatally in consumption. The action of Golden Medical Discovery in the curing of wast ing diseases is entirely philosophic. Emaciation, and consequent loss of weight, ar-i among the most striking symptoms of -what are known as wast ing diseases. The body is not being ade quately nourished, and the cause of this lack of nourisnment is not lack of food but lack of ability in the stomach and the other organs of digestion and nutri tion to prepare the food for the assimila tion and nutrition of the body. Dr. Iierces Golden Medical Discovery curea diseases of the stomach and the organs of digestion and nutrition, and so en ables the body to be nourished back to strength in the only way by which strength can come ; that is, by food per fectly digested and assimilated. Dr. Pierce's Golden Medical Discovery is a temperance medicine. It contains no alcohol, neither opium, cocaine or any other narcotic. Accept no substitute for " Discovery." There is nothing "just as good"t)r you, though many things may pay the dealer a larger profit. CAUGHT COLD. The first day of this year," writes Mrs. Kate Schey. of 716 St. Paul Avenue, Milwaukee, Wis. l caught a heavy cold, which settled on my lnngs aud brought on a hemorrhage. From that time on until the first of April I bled from my lung five di.Vcrent times. I was so weak and undone I could only do the lightest work. The doctor told me I was going into consump tion. Mv breath wits short and at times I could hardly get my breath at alt. This is the state I was in when I began to take Doctor Pierce's Go!. leu Medical Discovery. After the first bottle I was much better, and I could walk two or three blocks without trouble. My breath wa not so short aud I was much improved. After takiug four bottles I could work all dav, and I never felt better in my life. I think your medi cine the best in the world and 1 recommend it to all who are troubled as I was. WILL MAKE AFFIDAVIT. "I was sick for about three months, had chills, fever, and coughed a great deal," write Mr. W. L. Brown, of McDeannan. Jackson Co., Tenn. "Most of my neighbors and friends thought I had consumption. I was reduced in flesh, and was very weak only weighed no pounds ; my physician thought there was little hope for my recovery. My wife went to the store to get some anti fitbrin. quinine, etc, for me and a friend of mine (Mr. W. W. McDeartnanl, who had been taking Dr. Pierce's Golden Medical Discovery recom mended this medicine for me. Finally I decided to use it. after my physician told me that it wovld be good fiir me. I sent and got one bottle, aud before all was taken I weighed 149 pounds a gain of 70 pounds. I am still taking the Golden Medical Discovery, have taken nearly two bottles, and now weigh ioj pounds, which is more than I ever weisrhed. I am stilt gaining strength and taking the Discovery.'
