A local rural telephone company
is being organized at Corvallis for

Robbed The Grave.
A startling incident, is narrated by
John Oliver of Philadelphia, as follows:
"I was in an awful condition. My skin

Claude Johnson, the young son
of Mrs. Ely Johnson, of Inde
pendence, received a discharge of
shot from a revolver in the hands
of another boy, which made a very
serious wound in the hand. A boy

Monday, north of town. The time

BRIGHT'S DISEASE.
The largest sum ever paid for a pre
scription, changed hands in San Fran
cisco, August 30. 1901. The transfer in
volved in coin and stock $112,500.00 and
was paid bv a party of business men for
a specific for Bright's Disease and Dia
betes, hitherto incurable diseases.
They commenced the serious investi
gation of the specific Nov. 15, 1900.
They interviewed scores of the cured
and tried it out on its merits by putting
over three dozen eases on tin treatment
and watching them. They also got phy
sicians to name chronic, incurable cases,
and administered it with the physicians
for judges. Up to Aug. 25. eighty-seyen
per cent of the test cases were either
well or progressing favorably.
There K-ing but thirteen per cent of
failures, the parties were satisfied and

administrator of the estate of Adella Michell,
deceased, have tiled my linal account and re
port in the matter of the estate of Adella
Michell, deceased, with the County Clerk of
I'olk County, Oregon, and the County Court has
fixed the 2nd day of April A. D. 1901, at 10
o'clock a. m. of said day, at the County Court
House in Dallas, Polk County, Oregon, as the
time aud place when said final account will be
heard. All persons interested therein, are re
quired to appear and tile any objections, if any
they have, and to show cause why said linal
account should not be allowed, and the admin
istrator discharged and his bondsmen released
from furthi r liability therein.
