taking place in Polk County that are open to the pub-
lic. To submit an event for calendar consideration,
please send it at least two weeks before the actual
event date to the Itemizer-Observer via email
(ionews@polkio.com).
PC Fair open class
entries accepted
Entries for the open
classes at the Polk County
Fair will be accepted Mon-
day through Aug. 9.
On Monday, entries for
fine arts, photography,
crafts, textiles and youth
arts and crafts are due.
On Tuesday, entries for
foods will be turned in, and
on Aug. 9, entries for grains,
honey, forestry, floriculture
and horticulture will be ac-
cepted.
The Polk County Fair will
run Aug. 10-12 at the Polk
County Fairgrounds. See

taken, stop at the Polk County Museum on Saturday. Excited to see the old wooden ca-
boose at the museum, David Moellenberndt, president of the Polk County Historical
Society, offered to keep it, but instead took photos before it was on to its true destination.
