on Oct. 11 on charges of mis-
demeanor strangulation, men-
acing, and harassment.
• Justin J. Lay, 26, of Dallas
in the 100 block of Southeast
Court Street on Oct. 12 on two
counts each of irst-degree
criminal possession forged in-
strument, irst-degree forgery,
identity theft, and mail theft.
• Kyle Curtis Patrick Cloutier,
26, of Dallas in the 300 block of

Oct. 14 on charges of unlawful
use of a stun gun, harassment,
improper use of 911, and initi-
ating a false report.

• Miguel Angel Trujillo, 26, of
Independence in the 200 block
of South Sixth Street on Oct. 9
for third-degree theft – receiv-
ing stolen property.
• Gonzalo Nunez Alvarez, 37,
of Independence in the 200
block of Evergreen Drive on
Oct. 12 for four counts of unlaw-
ful controlled substance – pro-
hibited acts. Alvarez was also ar-
rested at the corner of South
Gun Club Road and B Street on
Oct. 4 for driving under the in-
luence of intoxicants.

on Oct. 7 for unlawful posses-

building. He remodeled
many homes and built sev-
eral pieces of furniture.
He was preceded in death
by his sisters, Eloise Rice
and Dorothy Eastman; and
brother, Laine Walker.
Survivors include his wife,
Lucille, of Dallas; sons, Bill
(Marcie), of Keizer, and Jim,
of Dallas; three grandchil-
dren; and five great-grand-
children.
Celebration of life is Sat-
urday at 2 p.m. at Dallas
First Christian Church.

Evelyn Loretta (McDon-
ald) Robinson, 97, of Scio,
formerly of Lebanon died
Oct. 5 in Albany.
She was born in Dallas to
Grover
and Dena
(Butz) Mc-
Donald.
She was
raised in
Dallas and
graduated
from Dal-
las High School in 1936. Eve-
lyn married Fred Robinson
on Oct. 29, 1938, in Steven-
son, Wash.
They lived in Dallas until
moving to Scio in October
1943, where they farmed for
33 years.
They raised row crops for
Stayton Canning Company.
They had the first corn pick-
er for the cannery and also
commercial picked for other
farms.
They also raised strawber-
ries and beans. They sold
the farm and moved to
Lebanon in 1976. Evelyn
continued living near
Lebanon until she returned
to Scio in 1995.
During the 1980s she
loved to bake for exhibits at
Linn County Fair and was
“Queen of the Kitchen”
twice.
In 1989, she was chosen
Citizen of the Year by Scio
Grange. Evelyn and Fred
were members of the Linn
County Posse and Posse-
ettes and also Scio Bucka-
roos. They were very active
members of their communi-
ty.
She was preceded in
death by her husband, Fred
on Dec. 23, 1978; sons,
Kendall and Donald Robin-
son; brother, Eugene Mc-
Donald; sister, MaRea Mc-
Donald; and nephew, Harry
McDonald.
Survivors include her
children, Kenneth Robinson
and Jean Vian, both of Scio;
six grandchildren; five great-

Carssow
July 31, 1924 – Oct. 16, 2015
Melvina M. Carssow, 91,
of Dallas, died Friday in
Salem.
She was born in Angelus,
Kan., to Nicklaus and Mary
Kamphaus Schiltz.
She met Boyd Harley
Carssow while he was in the
military. They were married
on Feb. 2,
1944, in
Wi n f i e l d ,
Kan. They
moved to
Klamath
Falls where
t h e y
resided for
a short
time, and then moved to
Lewiston, Idaho. In 1955,
they moved to Clarkston,
Wash.
In 1973, they moved to
Salem where Melvina was
the bookkeeper for North-
western Industrial Lamp
Company, a family owned
business. She retired in
1986.
In 1998, they moved to
Dallas where she was an ac-
tive member of the St. Philip
Catholic Church. She was an
avid quilter, enjoyed puz-
zles, playing cards with fam-
ily and friends, and sharing
birthday lunches with her
friends.
She was preceded in
death by her husband, Boyd
on Oct. 1, 2005, and a
daughter, Carolyn.
Survivors include her
children, John, George,
Robert, Cathy, Tom, Barbara
and Mike; 13 grandchildren;
and 19 great-grandchildren.
Recitation of the rosary is
at 10:30 a.m. followed by a
funeral Mass at 11 a.m.
Wednesday (today) at St.
Philip Catholic Church. In-
terment will be at Dallas
Cemetery.

Marianne Gamboni

Marianne Gamboni, 69, of
Salem, died Oct. 14 in Salem
of congestive heart failure.
She was born in Oakland,
Calif., to Conrad and Eliza-
beth Gamboni.
Marianne grew up in
Piedmont, Calif. She attend-
ed Santa Barbara University,
where she was a member of

and gradu-
ated from

versity of
California
Berkeley.
She married her high
school sweetheart Don Lytle
and moved to Chico, Calif.,
where she was an active
community coordinator and
was voted as “most influen-
tial woman.”
Marianne enjoyed help-
ing others. She was a dedi-
cated La Leche League
leader who helped new
mothers.
She moved to Salem in
1989, where she found her
career in counseling and
working with people with

Robert Clyde
Walker
March 21, 1923 – Oct. 16, 2015
Robert Clyde Walker, 92,
of Dallas, died Friday in Dal-
las.
He was born to Henry
Clyde Walker and Ethel Mae
Shippy Walker in Golden-
dale, Wash.
Bob at-
tended
school and
graduated
in Golden-
dale. He
t h e n
moved to
Por tland
to attend
Barber
College.
He then
moved to
Heppner and bought his
first barber shop. That is
where he met Margaret Lu-
cille Barlow.
In February of 1943, he
entered the Army. During
his first leave, he returned to
Heppner and married the
love of his life Lucille on
Aug. 20, 1943.
Bob served in the Pacific
and separated from the
Army in 1946.
He returned to his wife
and barber business in Hep-
pner and at the University of
Oregon.
He then owned and oper-
ated two other barber shops
in Eugene. Bob went on to
become an award-winning
barber-stylist.
Bob retired in 1994. He
and Lucille moved to Dallas.
They celebrated their 72nd
wedding anniversary on
Aug. 20.
God and music were a
large part of Bob’s life. He
lived humbly, putting others
ahead of himself.
He was a member of and
sang in the choirs of the
Heppner Christian Church
from 1942 to 1955; the Eu-
gene First Christian Church
from 1956 to 1993; and the
Dallas First Christian
Church from 1993 to his
death.
He was also a longtime
member of the Eugene Glee-
man Chorus and performed
regionally in Eugene, the

She struggled with multi-
ple sclerosis (MS) for many
years.
She loved NASCAR, all
sports and doing genealogy
research. She was a member
of the Falls City Methodist
Church.
Survivors include her
sons, Matthew James Flem-
ing and Dustin Lee Fleming,
both of Fresno; brothers,
Lon (Bertha) Bradley, of
South Carolina, and Larry
(Shanndon) Bradley, of Falls
City; and extended family.
