Bernard LeRoy
Timmons
May 2, 1940 – Sept. 20, 2015
Bernard LeRoy Timmons,
known to ever yone as
“Bink,” 75, of Independence
died Sept. 20 in Salem.
He was born in Gandy,
Neb., to Nelson and Noma
Timmons. Bink spent a
short time
in Nebras-
ka before
his family

to Inde-
pendence
when he
was
a
young boy.

Bink was
energetic
and a bit mischievous. While
growing up in Independ-
ence, Bink attended Henry
Hill Grade School and Cen-
tral High School, where he
competed in pole vaulting
for the track team.
After high school, Bink
joined the U.S. National
Guard. After his discharge, a
beautiful young woman,
Marceil Tracy, caught his
eye. Less than a year later
they were married on Oct.
13, 1962. The family lived in
the Independence area
where Bink worked for the
Holt Foundry, Boise Cas-
cade, built boats, and then
ended up at Tyco.
Bink’s interests and hob-
bies included, boats, flying,
planes, wood working, and
decorative sign making,
trips to the coast, and most
of all, spending time with his
family, friends, and neigh-
bors. Bink’s was known for
his positive attitude, warm
smile, and friendly heart.
Survivors include by his
wife of more than 52 years,
Marceil; daughters, Lorri Lee

Robert V. Story
Jan. 27, 1920 – Sept. 28, 2015
Robert V. Story, 95, of Her-
miston, formerly of Dallas,
died Sept. 28 in Hermiston.
He was born in Airlie to
Robert Grant Story and
Gladys Mabel Liggett Story.
Robert married Aldeen
Mae Coop-
er
on
March 28,
1942 in
Dallas. He
served in
the Army
d u r i n g
World War
II and was
Story
stationed
in Hawaii.
Robert
worked in
the logging
industry
and later
for Polk
County in the road depart-
ment for many years. They
moved from Dallas to Her-
miston in 1989.
Robert was a member of
the Seventh Day Adventist
Church in Hermiston. He
loved working in his shop
carving and creating vintage
and modern airplane mod-
els. He enjoyed playing the
banjo, writing poetry, air-
plane movies, the outdoors,
hiking, and going on walks
in his younger years.
He was preceded in
death by his wife, Aldeen
Mae Story.
Survivors include his chil-
dren, Clara Jeannette Story
Corser and Vallis Aldeen Fra-
zier, both of Hermiston,
Steven Earl Story of Baker
City, and Denise LaVern
Story Jenkins of Battle-
ground, Wash.; nine grand-
children; 16 great-grandchil-
dren; and four great-great-
grandchildren.
Celebration of life service
was Saturday at the Seventh
Day Adventist Church in
Hermiston. Private burial
was at Pleasant View Ceme-
tery in Stanfield.

James M. Hayes
Oct. 14, 1916 – Oct. 2, 2015
James M. Hayes, 98, of
Dallas died Oct. 2 in Salem.
He was born in Onida,
S.D., to Jesse Tyler and Flo-
rence Jordan Hayes.
He married Thelma Stet-
ter on May 8, 1947 in Van-
couver, Wash. Together, they
moved to Dallas in 1957.
Here Jim worked for AT&T
and Century Link as a re-
pairman for many years.
He was preceded in death
by his wife, Thelma, on April
28, 2005.

REECE ALEXZANDER DAVIS, 1,
died Tuesday, October 6, 2015 in Dallas.
He was born on June 27, 2014.
Reece was loved and adored by all who
knew him. He always had a smile on his
face and loved to laugh. Reece was a
happy boy. He lived in Willamina, Grand
Ronde and Dallas. No matter where he
was, he loved life and those that knew
him loved him.
He is survived by his mother Heather Dawn Davis of
Dallas, grandparents Shaun & Marie Davis of Dallas, Lisa
Davis and Mike Haney of Troutdale, great grandparents
Michael & Laura Davis of Amity, Jane Ford of Fincastle, VA,
Marjie Johnson of Dallas, Aunts and Uncles Hannah Davis
of Troutdale, Nick Holtsclaw & Nicole Koskela of Dallas,
Brad Holtsclaw of Monmouth, Scottie Holtsclaw of Hawaii,
Austin Holtsclaw of Texas, Timothee Holtsclaw of Salem,

and Tina Ford of North Carolina, cousins Sierra Davis of

Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, October 16th
in the Evangelical Bible Church in Dallas. Private family in-
terment will be in the Amity Cemetery. The Dallas Mortuary

Jesus has called "Our" beloved "Cori"
Corinne Jean Kershner Hatch, home fol-
lowing a battle with brain cancer. She
had been living in Henderson, Nev.
Cori inspired us all with her spiritual
strength, kind heart and positive giving
nature. Cori made each and every person
feel that they were her very best friend. Her honesty and
trust in god was unshakable!
Cori is survived by her husband, Doug Hatch; sisters, Kris
Dalton, Jill North; brother, Mark Kershner; children, Jenna
Lindley, John Lindley, Alicia Norzagary and Christopher
Norzagary; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in
death by her dear mother Jean, and father, Roger Kershner.
"Bubbly" Cori was born in Seattle in 1958. For her first
five years the Kershner's lived in Lynnwood, Wash. By
kindergarten the family relocated to Lake Oswego, where
Cori's talent for art was discovered. She would incorporate
her artistic talents into her various careers, and her art would
give her and all around her great pleasure and joy! Cori was
a hairstylist supreme, doll furniture shop owner, store ven-
dor, and award winning sales clerk, etc. With her "Personal-
ity Plus!" she succeeded at everything she tried.
Cori spent over 16 years of her early life in Monmouth. A
1976 graduate of Central High school she was head cheer-
leader, member of Jobs Daughters, and was active in the
Methodist youth group. She was a waitress and car hop at
A&W. In 1971, Cori's dream of having her own horse came
true, when her dad moved the family to a small farm on
Mistletoe Road.
In 1979 Cori married her school sweetheart Ray Lindley.
The marriage ended in the mid-1980s, and Cori moved to
Mesa, Ariz. Her parents moved soon after to help her raise
her two children. A few years later Cori married Michael
Norzagary, and they had two children. Her third marriage to
Doug Hatch came at the beginning of her valiant fight with
brain cancer. Cori not only fought for her own life, but she
was a fierce advocate and warrior for others with her condi-
tion. Devoted mother, truest friend, favorite auntie, leg-
endary grandmother, super sister, caring daughter and
granddaughter. Cori dedicated her life to pleasing those she
loved. As the song goes, "The greatest thing you'll ever learn,
is just to love, and be loved in return."
Please join us as we honor our beautiful, kind, coura-
geous "Cori" on Sunday Oct. 18th at Christ's Church, 412
Clay Street, Monmouth at 2 p.m. Cori loved bright color-
ful flowers!

Ruby Etta Baxter Woods,
89, of Monmouth died Sept.
17.
She was born in Webb
City, Okla., to Jesse and Pearl
Baxter and moved to Tuc-
son, Ariz., at age 4 where she
spent the majority of her
life.
Ruby
had an

turesome
spirit, lov-
ing to
travel, see

places,

and plot
her next journey on a map.
Before she married, college
and various jobs took her to
different parts of the coun-
try. After marriage, she be-
came a stay-at-home wife
and mother. Ruby knew
Jesus Christ as her personal
savior. She also loved history
and a good book.
She was preceded in
death by her husband, Fred
Woods; and sister, Dorothy
Baxter.
Survivors include her chil-
dren, Fred (Rosemar y)
Woods of Casa Grande, Ariz.,
Jeri (Dean) Odell of Tucson,
Robbie Gronewold of Queen
Creek, Ariz., and Ken (Ann)
Woods of Monmouth; seven

Warner Riley “Sparky” Atkins
Jr., 52, of Dallas died Monday.
He was born to Warner Atkins
Sr., and Irma Talley in Prineville.
Warner had worked in con-
struction and retired in 2012.
He was a big teddy bear with
heart of gold. He would do any-
thing for anyone. Warner enjoyed
music, collecting guitars, classic vehicle, and
Harley’s. Most of all Warner loved his family and
his dog Riley.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Kathy;
son, Matthew Bonillas; brother, Shane Talley; one
grandson; and extended family.
Memorial gathering was Saturday. Dallas Mor-
tuary Tribute Center handled arrangements.

Robert A. Fitzgerald Sr.,
59, of Carlton, died Thurs-
day, after having fought a
long and hard battle against
cancer. He had spent the
past six months with his
brother, Larry.
Robert spent most of his
life working in plywood and
lumber
mills.

work in the
lumber mill in Mist until his
health situation medically
retired him.
Robert enjoyed hunting,
fishing, camping and spend-
ing time outdoors.
He was preceded in death

Kathryn Muller.
Survivors include his
daughter, Sabrina Fitzger-
ald; son, Robert A. Fitzgerald
Jr.; stepdaughters, Rachel
and Emily; mother, Alma

ers, William David Fitzgerald
of Dallas and Larry D.
Fitzgerald of Carlton; and
eight grandchildren.
