Neighbor’s Night
Out party planned
Salt Creek Neighborhood
Association will host the
seventh annual Neighbor’s
Night Out party on Tuesday.
The event will be at Salt
Creek Church private park

Deputies from the Polk
County Sheriff’s Office will
be on hand at the event,
along with games and

Boondock’s hosts
painting workshop
The Boondocks in Falls
City, 318 N. Main St., will
hold an acrylic painting
workshop the first Wednes-
day of each month from 6 to
9 p.m. Aug. 5’s workshop will
be held outdoors on the
patio — there will be plenty
of shade available.
Admission is $30 and in-
cludes a 16 x 20 canvas, pro-
fessional instruction, paint,
supplies and a cocktail. No
art experience is necessary.

annual summer block party
from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thurs-
day at the church, on the

Activities are primarily
for children, including
crafts, a fire truck and
bounce house.
Parents and children of
all ages are invited. A free
picnic will be served to the
first 200 guests. Community
agencies from around the
county will provide games
and activities for children,
as well as information about
their services.
A disc jockey from Only
the Best will provide music.

ture taken with novel props

REUNION ROUNDUP
• Central High School 2015 Multi-Class
Reunion — A reunion for Central High
School’s multi-class reunion will be held
Aug. 7-9. The event is for those who gradu-
ated in the 1970s and 1980s. The weekend
activities begin with a mixer at Kolby’s RB &
B in Keizer from 6 to 10 p.m. on Aug. 7.
From 11 a.m. to midnight, the gathering
will be at Riverview Park in Independence,
and will include food vendors, a beer gar-
den and musical entertainment. Cost for
this event is $20 per person or $30 per fam-
ily. The weekend will wrap up with a golf
tournament on Aug. 9. For more informa-

• Dallas High Class of 1956 — Dallas
High School Class of 1956 will hold its an-
nual reunion on Aug. 1 at Murphy’s Grill,

• Independence High Class of 1950 —
Independence High School’s Class of 1950
will celebrate its 65th class reunion on
Aug. 21 with a luncheon at Rock-n-Rogers
Farrol’s Restaurant in Rickreall. Farrol Webb
had been a classmate. There are 34 sur-
vivors out of 51 in the class, the largest
ever to be graduated from IHS. Cost of the
luncheon is $14.99. It begins at noon, but
classic cars will be on display beginning at
