ing perhaps its biggest chal-
lenge of the season, Central’s
girls tennis team lost two
Mid-Willamette Conference
matches.
The Panthers lost to Cres-
cent Valley 8-0 on April 7 be-
fore losing to Lebanon 6-1
on Thursday.
Patience Teague, playing
in the No. 3 singles spot,
earned the Panthers’ lone
victory on Thursday.
“Patience fought for two
and a half hours and finally
pulled it,” Central coach
Dave Eble said.
Central played at Silverton
Tuesday after press time.
The Panthers host Corval-
lis Thursday, South Albany on
Friday and Woodburn on
Monday at 4 p.m.

singles, Lynn Gumpinger,
earned the team’s lone victory
against the Spartans, a 6-4, 2-
6, 6-1 triumph over Maggie
Hunter. “It’s been a while since
we have played a team the cal-
iber as Corvallis,” Dallas coach
Jordan Sollman said. “They
played at a high level and we
competed, but I am sure next
time around we will be more
prepared and hopefully steal
some more matches.” Against
South Albany, Gumpinger and
the No. 4 doubles pair of Molly
Ingram-Alison Hirshi won 6-0,
6-0. Dallas hosted Crescent
Valley Tuesday after press
time. The Dragons play at
Lebanon Thursday before fac-
ing Silverton on Monday. Dal-
las returns home to host
Woodburn on April 22.

golf team had its best fin-
ish of the season, placing
sixth out of eight teams at
Mallard Creek Golf Course
on Monday.
Senior Collin Brinton
shot a team-low 95 to lead
the Panthers, while Joey
Wittgrodt recorded a 100.
The Panthers finished with
a team score of 424.
The Dallas boys golf
team finished seventh on
Monday with a team score
of 460. Dylan Cackler led
the Dragons, shooting a
team-low 88. Nolan Miller
was second for Dallas after
scoring a 94.
Crescent Valley’s Alec
Berrey finished first overall
with a 72.
Dallas and Central will
compete at Tukwila Golf
Course in Woodburn on
Monday.
Dallas’ girls golf squad
