Dragons see players fall in straight sets in season-opener, faces North Marion on Thursday

McMINNVILLE — Dallas’
girls tennis team opened a
new season with an 8-0 loss
to McMinnville on Monday
afternoon.
“We played well against
them, even though the score
doesn’t reflect it,” Dragons
coach Jordan Sollman said.
“They were conference
champions last year and re-
turned a lot (this season).”
Marissa Brewen and Sa-
vanna Poston played in the
top two singles spots for
Dallas, while Abigail Garner
and Amelia Poston played in
the Dragons No. 1 doubles
slot. Dallas lost all matches
in straight sets.
The Dragons return to the
court on Thursday, when
Dallas hosts North Marion
in its home-opener. Play be-
gins at 4 p.m.
DALLAS BOYS SWEPT: The
Dallas boys tennis team hosted
McMinnville on Monday, falling
8-0. Freshman Ryan Bibler
played in the Dragons’ top sin-
gles spot, while Joe Gillette
and Caedom Blair played in
Dallas’ No. 1 doubles position.
The Dragons dropped all
matches in straight sets. Dallas
travels to face North Marion on
Thursday.
