» • ! > informed that the Booth-
K elly Lum ber Co bus let she coutract
for the hauling by team of a large
amount of machinery from tbeir
Hagiuavv mills to Spriugfield saw
m ill which they purchased last
spring. It is stated that the cost
will be much less to bring the
m achinery dowu by team then by
rail.
At llio time of the purchase of the
of the Springfield mill it was the
company’ s iuteutiou to enlarge it
and make quite a number of improve
ments oil the property, and no
doubt the hauling of this machinery
down from Saginaw is the beginn
in g of these improvements. It is
stated also that at the meeting of
the stockholders of the company
Saturday the matter of erecting a
m ill on the b ig tract of timber land
recently purchased by them on Row
river, above Cottage Grove, was
seriously consideaed. It has been
stated before that one of the Saginaw
m ills will be moved to that tract.
This inay be the case, but it is more
likely that a now milll will bo built.
The now Bohemia railroad will
have a spur several miles long ex
tending to this tract of timber
land.—Gourd.
