Rushing to the Coal Fields.
Prairie City— There is a big rush
through this place to the John Day
coal fields, which have recently been
discovered. Men are coming into the
country to investigate, and much of the

coal is said to be suj>erior to that pro
duced by the Heppner coal fields, and
there are indications that large depos
its w ill be opened.
