R0SEBURG PLANT
FOR FRUIT PACKING
Roseburg is soon to have another
important industry. The H. S.
Gile Fruit Packing company of Sa
lem, has secured ground on which
to construct an extensive building
for packing all kinds of fruit. R.
L. Gile, local manager of the con
cern said tonight:
During the past year, the local
pack o f fruit by the Gile Fruit
company has been approximately
2,000,000 pounds. Eighty people
are employed during the fruit sea
son, thus placing in circulation a
large amount of money. The Gile
Fruit Packing company operates
five plants throughout the state.
Mr. G ile is well known in Cot
tage Grove, his wife having former
ly been Miss Mary Cnrrin of this
city.
