OKEGON GIRLS IN JAMESTOWN A Company of Handsome Oregon Girls Will be Sent to the James town Exposition. A company of handsome Oregon girl.s will be s. i.t to the Jamestown exposition, starting from McMiuii ville. The scheme was originated by J. C. Cooper, the celebrated author of "The Yamhills." The company will assemble about the Nth of July f"r a month's drill and training, which will consist of physical and military drill and min ual of arms so far as the same may be exemplified with six foot spears, Indian tlauces and chants in rich Indian costume, tire and gho9t dances at night mound and thru' a blaze of colored fire. Many of the girl are good riders, and where opportunity offers, a ill show their ability to bundle, a horse and throw a lasso. On ail occasions when not in their Indian drill, the girls may be distinguished by their uniiorm dress and cowboy hat with "Oregon" printed in gold on a red leather band. Their drill costume will consist of light buckskin-colored broa'lcloth cruvenetle, richly trim med with brads and buckskiu fringe, with a beaver heads design stitched on the pocket. The city of McMinnville will entertain the girls free during their mouth's training and contribute liberally toward the expense of the enterprise. The company will start Kast early in August and will be absent from the state six or eight weeks, if the pres ent program in carried out. The company will create great enthus iasm wherever they go.
