Very Respectfully, Hi-nrv J . Cko ki:. .No Coal Strike President John Mitchell of the coal miners in a committee meeting Saturday advised the coal miners to accept the scale of three years ago, stating thut he was ufraid if a strike were to come the final settlement would mean, the cutting of the highest priced men, and giving the money to the lower men, w hile the aim of the miners was to raise the entire standard of wages. He also states that be is afraid of them not sticking together, saying: "If I were sure that the strike would be successful, that you would stand firm and long enough, I should advise 30U to strike and re main out, but from 'information which we have I am fearful that our people are not inclined to strike. "It would be a strike which many of our people are not in sym pathy with." The report of the committee was adopted and again trouble has been warded on. During the months shutdown while this settlement has been affected no damage hns re sulted to the mines, as men have been left to keep the mines in good condition. New Idea in Furniture Selling.
