about a month for thn Chambers
Lumber Co. at Dorena was killed
while in the woods. He was work-
ing just across a little hillock, anJ
the rest of the crew were felling
trees, hen one started to cri ck
about two they called to him and a
little Juter when it began to fall
th'y called to him again and sup
posed lie I ad gotten out of the way
all rtht, und went on with their
woik, Later a mau went to see
him and could not find him and
supposed ho Ind gone awav. but
when going ugaiu und not fiidlu
him, called the men, and cm
chanced to see his hat, and then
found bis body under the top of the
tree which had cracked off in its
fall, and had crushed birn instantly
to death.
He was a member of tho Wood
men Lodge at Lemon Grove, Calif.,
but had allowed bis insurance in
that order to lapse. The order re
ceived instructions to wire Mary K.
Lay ken at IJrookfleld, Mass.. and
are holding the body at Veatch ti
Lawson's undertaking parlors for
instructions.
