The Voters ol the Plrst District Decide
that Dinger Hermann Shall Succeed

MAJORITY ABOUT 2300.
Hon. Hiuecr Hermann was
elected to congress by u majority of
about two thousand three lnimlretl
over A. 12. Reauies, of Jacksonville.
Rcanies has carried four and pos
sibly five of the seventeen counties
of the district. There was an un
usual falling off in the voting
throughout the district. When
the votes are all in it will show
that about 35 tier cent of the voters
did not go to the polls at all. The
total number of votes cast was
about 30,000 as.compared with 45,
000 at the last election.

Ordinance No 68 prohibiting
chickens and other domestic fowls
running at larce In the city limits
was introduced and passed.
On motion the marshal was in
structed to have the shooting gallery
on Main Street fix a mote secure
back stop otherwise to move his
place of business.
