Mr. J. F. Balchelder, a well
known mining man of Portland,
will be in charge of a concentrator, 1
which will be in operation at the
Exposition in that city, during the
carnival, beginning September 18,
and invites all persons having ores
they desire to test to communicate
with him. He asks for lots of
from 1,000 to 2,000 pounds and no
charge will be made for milling.
Here Is an opportunity that ought
to be taken advantage of by many
mine owners. These ore tests will
prove one of the most attractive
features of the Exposition.
J. Pierpont Morgan is going to
ani,Fnnjiigcp4os aideleateothg
Iipicopal convention. 11 lie minus
he is going to organize a religious
trust and combine all the churches
into one, so that he can discharge
seven-eighths of all the ministers he
will find that he is getting Into the
wrong pew. When he tackles that
job, he will discover that the devil
has set him a task too big even for
so powerful and willing an agent of
his satanic majesty. No doubt
Mr. Morgan would fain consolidate
heaven and hell so that his soul
might escape some penalties in the
world to come. Pacific Miner.
The Bible is 0 storehouse ot rich
imagery and splendid words, of
style both simple and ornate, and
as literature alone, apart from its
spiritual elevation will repay the
search of every student. Read the
Bible and Shakespeare and you
will find yourselves able to converse
well. September Ladies Home
