NOTES FROM BOHEMIA.
Bohemia, Aug., 25, 1901,
En NuGGitT: I
We are all full-fledged Ore-

rado.
Steady development work this
vear is doinc much to show the
true worth of the district.
More assaying and less guessing
would be a good thing and save
many long tramps. a
We are clad to notice lii the
Nugget that you have the money
all raised for a railroad to camp,
and will put 01T coming out a few
days as no doubt you will be sup
plied with power for your corre
spondent.
We enjoyed seeing your Mr.
Supple in camp and believe his
visit will mean much in addition to
the already lively interest the
Nugget has taken in this district.
CORRKSPONDBNT.
WEEKLY CROP BULLETIN.
Light showers have occurred
during the week in nearly all parts
of the state. They did 110 harm to
the ripe grain and were of great
benefit to late crops and pastures.
More rain is still needed for late
potatoes and to start a new growth
of grass in the pastures. The week
has averaged nearly 6 per cent
cooler than the previous one.
The grain harvest is now prac
tically finished and threshing is in
active progress. Both the yields
and the quality continue good and
the crop, as a whole, is very satis
factory, though not much, if any,
more than an average one.
Hops continue doing nicely and
there is no complaint of lice or
mold. Picking will begin in about
a week, and if the weather continues
favorable a fair crop of better than
tbe average quality will be har
vested. Com is making good ad
vancement, but the crop is very
light and much of it will be ctit for
fodder. Early potatoes are plenti
ful in the market, and the late
planted have shown some improve
ment, but the crop as a whole
promises on account of dry weather
to be smaller than usual. In the
dairy districts pf the state the milk
supply continues to shrink because
of the drying up of the pastures,
but range stock, although losing
some flesh, is holding out well.
Fruit is maturing rapidly. The
prunq-ofop will be a fair oue, but
the sizes will be smaller than they
were last year, although it is
thought that the quality will be
better. Early apples are scarce.
DIVIDE ITEMS.
Miss Una Coffin had a very
sudden and severe attack of heart
disease last week, but she is better
now.

Mr McLean of Washington, stopped
for a short visit with her while on

family.
Mr Elbridge Wheeler and family
and Mr Will McCoy and family
were visiting Mr. and Mrs. Bert
Lee and family Saturday and Sun
day. Jay DeSpain returned from East
ern Oregon this week.
George Barlow formerly of
Coast Forb has moved on bis
ranch here aWd will start in housc-
keenine as, his own cook, for
a while at Jeast.
