change Is thnt this train fomncrly
left San Francisco at such an early
hour that It wan inconvenient for
passengers, and therefore the train
leaving; there in the evening carried
more than its proportionate share of
passengers, and the change in
time is for the purpose of equaliz
ing the business between the two
trains.

Wednesday evening. The doctor
delivered his famous lecture on

of revival meetings are being held,

Stevens and wife. A special
feature of these meetings is the
singing by Mrs. Stevens, who is
also the leader of the choir.

crowd of young people enjoyed
themselves as only young people
can with games and social converse
and music until the New Year
dawned in all its brightness.
At the residence of George Lea
another merry crowd watched the
Old Year out and the New Year in.
At Martin's hall the St Valentine
Circle No. 121, Women of Wood
craft gave an invitation dance.
Music was furnished by the Jones
& lillis string baud, assisted by the
famous corouetist Charles Cochran,
and was rdl that could be desired.
The ladies of this circle are well
known entertainers and upon this
occasion exerted themselves to
make this one of the social events
of the season, their success in which
is vouched for by those in attend
ance. Another dance was given at the.
Masonic hall, the music for .which
was furnished by our home talent,
the M. W. A. orchestra. This
orchestra is establishing quite a
reputation with the dancing public
and admirers of first class up-to-date
imuic. A jolly lot of dancers
whiled away the fleeting hours
until 2:50 a. in.
