STOCK AND FARM.
Apples continue promising.
Agricultural College Bulletin.
The early corn is being harvested
nnd the crop is a very good one.
The apple crop of Oswego
county, New York, is estimated at
j 50,000 bushels.
The fruit crop of Clackamas
comity is said to be immense ex
cept that of Italian prunes.
It is conservatively estimated
that more fruit will be canned in
Oretron and Washington this year
than ever before.
It is said that the Oregon State
Fair Association will have the best
pvliihition of live stock in its
history, this season.
Prunes arc finely flavored and
free from disease, but the Pctites,
although yielding well, are rather
smaller that usual in size.
A creamery is to be established
at Milton, Oregon. A good move
for Milton, and one just like it
would be the proper thing for Cot
tage Grove.

No improvement is noted in

weather. About three-fourths of
the grain is now harvested, and a
large portion of it is thrashed
and housed. The following thrash

county, wheat, 6 to 10 bushels;
oats, 10 to 20. Washington county,
wheat very uneven and ranges be
tween 3 and 18 bushels; rjats, 13 to
30. l,ivn county, spring wheat, 6
to 8; oats, 5 to 20. Marion county,
Wheat, 8 to 12; oats 12 to 22j.
Coos county, wheat, 10 to 30; oats,

county, fall wheat, 7 to 15; oats,
barley and rye, 6 to 12. Baker
county, wheat, 25; barley, 60, and
oats, 50. Some fields of wheat in
Baker county have averaged as
high as 50 bushels and some barley
as high as 80.
