The Musick mine after a continuous run of 8 months bas shut down
and the boys arc outon a well earned vacation. It is said that the mill
will be again placed in operation as soon as wood can be hauled to the
mill.
Pugh and Markham who own a group of promising claims between
Elephant and Adams mountains arc now commencing development work.
A very flattering prospect is reported,
Knowles-Cettys-Brund Sweep Stake group on Elephant Mountain
is taking on steady and substantal development work. In fact there
has hardly been a let tip in the work the past year. They have now
crosscut some 200 feet, and expect to strike the ledge in a short time the
time depending upon the dip. However if the ledge should be perpen
dicular about 15 feet will see them on the ledge.
Albert W. Ziniker and Andrew Land, have a group of promising
claims known as the Mineral King group on Steamboat. The boys
have been hard at work on development work all winter,
which has given them 175 feet of surface cuts and drifts. The
ore is of a splendid quality, free milling on the suface but running base
of good grade as they sink, assaying from $30 to $60. The property is
said to be admirably located.
The district seems well nigh deserted this week owing to the shut
down of the.Musick and the drawing of many witnesses to appear at
Roseburg in the now famous Helena mine litigation.
I The weather is exceedingly good, far better than anyone expects
this season oi the yeai. At present there is only about three feet of
snow at the best, and everybody predicts an early spring.
Active preparations for a busy year has commenced at the Champion.
w The prospects of the Champion opening up again is met with pleasure
2 , from every miner in the district. It is a splendid property and onlv
needs good management . to place it in the front rank of dividend payets.
Regardless of quality or make up, we sell them on a uniform profit. We make just the same
per cent on our $( 00 suits as we do on our $18.00 suits. O dy the one price an 1 that is what they ace
marked. Our SG.oo arc worth $6.00, not $5.75- All our clothing the same way. Only one paice.
