Unfortunately, wet weather washed away the program for the Saturday portion. Friday night had three divisions on tap in- cluding one a part of the Speedway Motors IMCA Weekly Racing program. Classes in attendance were 360 Sprints, IMCA Modifieds, and Street Stocks. The 360 Sprints made their return to Cottage Grove Speedway after be- ing absent since late 2019. Central Point’s Gar- en Linder got out to the front on the opening start of the main event. Linder remained at his post until he was over- taken shortly after a re- start. It was Jodie Robin- son, of Roseville, Calif., who managed to get past Linder. Robinson paced the field for some time but had to deal with a pair of cautions which gave her an open race track and no lapped traffic to deal with. After returning to green flag action on lap thirteen Garen Linder made a bonsai move and passed Jodie to claim first place at the line. The race would stay green for the rest of the distance. Jodie Robinson of Roseville, Calif., took the win during last weekend’s Spring Fling doubleheader at the Cottage Grove Speedway. Racers will be back on the track this weekend. Hud- son, from the central Or- egon town of Keno and racing for car owner Don Roemer, stayed there for the majority of the race. Hudson was overtaken late, on lap 18, by Alba- (541) 205-9369 ny’s Bricen James. James You know how you want to be remembered… but do they? Have you talked to your family about your final wishes? Bricen would master each of them and the sev- enth starting driver went on to win his first race of the entire 2021 campaign. Corbett chauffeur Col- len Winebarger got sec- ond while third place was credited to Curtis Towns, of Cottage Grove. Albany’s Matthew Drager and Otis teenag- er Eston Whisler were fourth and fifth in the finishing order. Lastly in the Street Stocks main event, An- thony Prather was quick in the early goings. The Keizer youngster re- mained in the coveted top spot before eventually being overtaken. It was Donald Schott, from Eagle Creek, who was the new trailblazer. Only one caution oc- curred during the entire race and Schott checked out from the rest of the pack to go on for the vic- tory.
