A complete repainting of the wall will address peeling issues (right) and alter Keaton’s face and hands to more closely replicate a photo from the film “The General,” upon which the mural is based. Oregon Health Authority (OHA) report- ed a total of 155,787 cases of COVID-19 in the state, along with 2,212 deaths. This joins the more than half million Americans and 2.55 million people worldwide who have died from COVID since the start of the pandemic. According to OHA Di- rector Patrick Allen, “Or- egon was one of the first states in the nation to re- port a case of COVID-19, but a year later our state has the fourth lowest coronavirus case rate in the nation, the fourth lowest death rate and the fourth lowest COVID-19 death rate among se- niors. The assistance package was designed to mitigate the ongoing financial hardships faced by local businesses and residents and includes both size- able and modest aid pro- posals. Last week, the city an- nounced securing fund- ing for two of those pro- posals. Most recently, it was announced $15,000 of funds are being removed from the Small Business Emergency Loan Pro- gram, managed by the third party Communi- ty LendingWorks, and placed into Community Sharing’s H20 Program. Th e incident took place on Shortridge Hill Road in what Lane County Sheriff ’s Offi ce (LCSO) Sergeant Tim Ware de- scribed as a dispute be- tween a landlord and a tenant.
