Lane County Parks Committee seeks applicants to fill seat
The Lane County Parks
Advisory Committee is
seeking applicants to fill
the West Lane County
seat starting in the new
year.
The Parks Advisory
Committee helps guide
the priorities for Lane
County’s parks, prioritize
projects, guide the imple-
mentation of the Parks
Master Plan and more.
“Being a member of
the Lane County Parks
Advisory Committee is
a great opportunity to
participate in the de-
cision-making process
in what happens to our
most precious Oregon
asset: The Great Out-
doors,” said Wayne Lem-
ler, outgoing committee
member. “Working with
County Parks staff, as
well as the other mem-
bers, is extremely re-
warding and fulfilling.
“Being able to have di-
rect input with the Lane
County Commissioners
in what priorities are es-
tablished and pursued
with the wonderful parks
that Lane County man-
ages is the chance to have
influence into the near
and far future.”
Applicants must live
within the West Lane
County
commission-
er district represented
by Commissioner Jay
Bozievich and be at least
18 years of age.
The Parks Advisory
Committee is a volunteer
position and is not com-
pensated.

recruiting employees to
serve as Activation Site
Staff to help coordinate
and operate the Warm-
ing Shelters.
The employees and
other volunteers would
staff the warming cen-
ter on nights when the

Our mom passed away
Tuesday, December 8th. Elou-
ise Carr Pardun Yingling was
97 years old. She was a great
mom, a wonderful and smart
cook and our house was always
clean. We didn’t have much in
material things, but we had
love. She taught us to stick to-
gether and if you picked a fi ght
with one Pardun, you picked it
with all of us. She is survived
by one sister, Patty Carr Ryer-

Notary services at
City Hall
Notarizations
have
increased
significant-
ly at City Hall due to
COVID-19.
The city has three em-
ployees who are Notary
Publics and normally
notarize documents for
regular City business.
However
due
to
COVID-19 businesses
in Cottage Grove who
normally notarize for
the public are closed and
unable to provide those
services.
In 2019, the city em-
ployees did 180 notari-
zations compared to 385
to date this year. The city
Robert “Bob” Wallace Cur-
rier, 76, of Creswell, Oregon
passed-away November 29,
2020. Bob was born on May 17,
1944 to Robert E. and Eleanor
D. (Gately) Currier in Willi-
mantic, Connecticut. Aft er
earning a high school diploma,
Bob joined the US Army In-
fantry where he served for 22
years and earned the rank of
Sergeant First Class and served
in Vietnam from 1967-1968.
On January 18, 1969, Bob
married Mary Schacht. Aft er

private family graveside will be
held at Springwater Cemetery
in Estacada, OR. Th ere will be
a celebration of life in Cottage
Grove in the spring. Arrange-
ments in the care of Smith-
Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel.

worked as a Corrections Offi -
cer for the Lane County Sher-
iff ’s Offi ce.
Bob was an avid reader
of military history and was
a sports fan, supporting the
University of Oregon Women’s
Basketball and Lacrosse teams.
He volunteered for the Special
Olympics and for South Lane
Meals on Wheels as a driver.
He was also a member of the
VFW Post 3473 in Cottage
Grove. Bob loved his family
and was the proud owner of a
1964 Ford Mustang.
Bob is survived by his wife
Mary and daughter Irene Mady
of Creswell, Oregon, his son
Donald Currier of Madras, Or-
egon along with fi ve grandchil-
dren and one great-grandchild.

Monday of each month
