COTTAGE GROVE SENTINEL | NOVEMBER 25, 2020 | 3B CG Historic Renovation Grant deadline has been extended The Cottage Grove His- toric Landmarks Commis- sion is continuing to accept Historic Renovation Grant applications for the 2020- 2021 fiscal year. Applications are due to the Public Works & De- velopment Department by Dec. 21. This program is designed to assist Historic Down- town business and property owners with needed histor- ic renovations. All projects must be located within the National Register Historic District, and must be for exterior work. Past proj- ects funded through this program include the res- toration of neon signs, re- painting historic murals, window repair, brick and mortar repair, stucco repair, restoration studies, and new awnings. A total of $10,000 in City funds will be distributed be- tween successful applicants. Typical grant awards are for between $500-$3500. Each applicant must match this award at a 1:1 ratio. Projects must be complete by June, 2021. This is the eighth year of this grant program. Pri- or recipients have included the Cottage Grove Hotel (new awning), Burkhold- er Woods (corbel repair), Mortier building (Coca Cola mural, masonry re- pair), 802 E. Main Street (new stucco, roof repair), and the Bookmine (awning and siding repair).
