about favorite experiences in Cottage
Grove. What do you love about Cottage
Grove? The stories can include interesting
facts, funny or heartwarming stories,
historic tidbits etc. There are many avenues
to keep up to date on the negativity in the
world today, the idea is to focus on fun and
positive messages. Please email your ideas
to info@cgchamber.com or call Shauna at

Note from the director:
This month has been whirlwind of activity
in the Chamber offi ce. Beth and I have
been working feverishly in preparing for
the offi ce move to Main Street. The new
space required a great deal of preparation.
Bear with me while I gloat about what
great Chamber members we have. I will
start with Linda Trombly from Fort Rock
Construction. She spent hours in extreme
heat helping clean and paint. I don’t know
what I would have done with out her.
Danny and Candace Solesbee handled
the construction of the separation wall
and installed the crown molding. Cascade
Home Center provided great pricing on
all the necessary materials. The City
of Cottage Grove has been so patient
and helpful through the many years our
Chamber was in the Community Center.
We will miss everyone there. A special
thanks to Mike and the crew for offering a
bit of muscle. Judd Van Gorder, Ruth Linoz
, Molly Murai and Tiffanie Williams… I
can’t say “Thank you” enough.
The Cottage Grove Area
Chamber of Commerce has
relocated.

While it is still a work in progress, the
Chamber is offi cially in the new space on
the corner of Highway 99 and East Main
Street. Our phones have been transferred
and the visitor center is shaping up to be
a wonderful tourist hub. We would like
to invite the community to stop in and
see the progress we have made. There is
a mask requirement and we ask everyone
to use the provided sanitizer upon arrival.
Please respect the proper social distancing
requirements. Your health is important to
us.
Tell us your stories.
Through these unusual times the Chamber
has been investigating different ways
to entice visitors to experience our
community. One initiative would be to
start a positive blog page. We will be
looking for stories from the community

’20 Bike Routes That Are
Begging for a Fall Road
Trip’
Cottage Grove’s Row River Trail was
featured in the Bicycling Magazines
article ’20 Bike Routes That Are Begging
for a Fall Road Trip’. They mention biking
as a safe way to get outside during these
isolating times. There were 20 routes
selected through recommendations from
cycling enthusiasts and online research.
The Row River Trail is fourth on the
list and the only bike trail listed from
Oregon! You will fi nd the article on their
website: www.bicycling.com. In addition
to cycling, the Row River Trail provides
a great opportunity to bird watch, identify
native plants, or take a leisurely stroll in
the shade next to Dorena Lake. The low
grade would also make the trail a nice place
to train to walk or run for your next 5k or
half marathon. We are so lucky to live in a
place where most come to vacation.
Halloween Howl
With the current COVID restrictions in
mind, the Main Street Program, Chamber
of Commerce, and the Faith Center are
looking for ideas on how our community
can safely celebrate Halloween and the
Fall Harvest. As it stands now, we will
not be able to host the amazing Trick or
Treat on Main Street - Halloween Howl.
This event draws between two and three
thousand people downtown every year. As
you can imagine, this is a lot to manage on
a normal year. With the social distancing
requirements, it will be very diffi cult to
assure everyone takes the precautions to
remain healthy and safe. We do have a few
surprise plans. I wanted to reach out to the
community to see if you could provide any
additional ideas.

IT’S SO HARD, ISN’T IT?
FINDING THE RIGHT
GIFT FOR SOMEONE
The greatest gift on Earth!
Chamber Gift Certifi cates.
Sometimes it just seems so hard to fi nd
that perfect gift for a coach, a birthday
person or to reward an employee. And if
it isn’t right, it is always such a hassle for
the recipient to go through the return or
exchange process.
Purchasing a Cottage Grove Chamber
Gift Certifi cate allows your recipient the
fl exibility to shop from several
excellent Chamber businesses to keep
and spend our dollars locally. This is so
important right now with many of our
small businesses struggling.
To order your gift certifi cate, send us an
email (info@cgchamber.com) or call the
Chamber offi ce and it can be prepared for
you to pick up at your convenience, (541)
