Annual Stained Glass, Candlelight
holiday event at CG Museum
The Cottage Grove mu-
seum invites the commu-
nity to its annual holiday
tradition, Stained Glass and
Candlelight, on Saturday,
Dec. 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at
the Cottage Grove Museum,
147 N. H St.
As is the tradition, the
museum’s stained-glass win-
dows will be illuminated
from the outside. Histori-
an Joanne Skelton’s win-
dow-by-window tour will
highlight the features of —
and story behind — each
window. The tour will begin
at 6:30 p.m.
In addition, the muse-
um’s new exhibit, “She Sur-
vived the Titanic,” the story
of Cottage Grove resident
and Titanic survivor Mari-
on Wright Woolcott, will be
open during the event.

day season, the museum’s
stained-glass windows will
remain illuminated Friday,
Saturday and Sunday eve-
nings from dusk until 10
p.m. through New Year’s
Eve. Community members
are encouraged to drive by
the museum to see the beau-
tiful, unique and historic
windows as part of their
tour of holiday lights this
season.
Admission is free but do-
nations are encouraged.
Light refreshments will be
served.

Christmas tree tags now
available for federal forests
Christmas tree tags,
which can be purchased
in order to legally cut a
holiday tree and remove
it from federal forests, are
now available.
There are a few loca-
tions where permits can be
purchased in the Cottage
Grove area. Christmas tree
tags for the Cottage Grove
Ranger District area for the
2019 Christmas season can
be purchased at:
