Creative Chaos dance
card full for 2020
Creative Chaos is cur-
rently rehearsing for an
original Christmas play,
which opens Dec. 13,
with additional perfor-
mances on Dec. 14 and
15.
Tickets are on sale now,
with tickets only available
for Saturday’s (Dec. 14)
performance.
Also, Creative Chaos
will be participating in a
give-back project, work-
ing with Joyce Settlemey-
er at the Tree of Joy and
accepting
unwrapped
toys, warm hats and
gloves at the door of all
three performances.
In addition, Creative
Chaos has been working
with Opal and recent-
ly announced it will be
holding an event every
month starting in Feb-
ruary with a Sweethearts
dance on Feb. 7, from 5 to
7 p.m.
“Recently, I took some
Special Olympic athletes
to Eugene’s Halloween
Costume Party and we
had so much fun danc-
ing and socializing I just
knew that we needed to
do something like this
on a local level,” said Cre-
ative Chaos founder Car-
men Dowell. “A full cal-
endar for 2020 has been
made and we have danc-
es, karaoke, craft nights
and game nights.”
Costs will be kept to
under $5 for each event
and go directly back into
supplies for the next
event.
“This is an all-volun-
teer program, so we ap-
preciate any local busi-
nesses that would like to
sponsor an event,” said
Dowell. “I would love to
get help with taxi money
so everyone can attend.
None of our athletes or
actors drive.”
To learn more about
the program, upcoming
events or to sponsor an
event, contact Dowell at
542-285-5475.
“You don’t have to be a
Special Olympic Athlete
or a Creative Chaos Actor
to attend these events,”
Dowell said. “Anyone
with a disability or as we
like to say ‘Different-abil-
ity’ is welcome to attend.”
