Lucille
Phyllis
Cross
Koehn, 93, of Cottage Grove,
OR, passed away peaceful-
ly on September 29, 2019.
Lucille (or “Lucy”, as her
closest friends called her)
was born on July 26, 1926 in
Cleveland, Ohio. She was a
loving and devoted mother,
grandmother and great grand-
mother, and a steadfast friend.
Lucille was predeceased by
her beloved son, Steven Cook.
She is survived by her husband
of 61 years, Wilber Lee Koehn;
her three daughters, Phyllis
Gregg (wife of Peter), Cher-
yl Koehn and Joyce Koehn;
her grandsons and grand-
daughter, Jason Dement, Trev-
or Close and Jessica Koehn and
her great grandsons Moses De-
ment and Sylus Koehn.
Lucille’s life was rich with
experiences from her child-
hood in Cleveland, Ohio, her
place of birth and youth, Cal-
ifornia, where she and her
husband lived the majority
of their lives and raised their
family, and for the past 25
years as an active member of
the Cottage Grove communi-
ty. She supported her husband
and children in their pursuit
of sports, music and outdoor
life, always with a smile and a
sense of humour, which was
legendary. Her friends used
to call her “Lucy” because her
humour was on par with Lu-
cille Ball’s. And boy could she
throw a party – her New Year’s
Eve bashes were regarded as
“the event” of the year.
Lucille was committed
to her faith and place of wor-
ship, Trinity Lutheran Church,
and was proud to volunteer
there along with her son,
Steven. Th ose were some
of the happiest, most fulfi lling
times in her later life.
To celebrate the life of Lu-
cille, a memorial service
and reception will be held
at Trinity Lutheran Church
at 1 pm on Friday, November
1, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran
Church, 675 S. 7th Street, Cot-
tage Grove.
