Director’s Note
Concerts in the Park
Sadly, our fi rst concert of the 2019 season
didn’t get off to the greatest start. A
“Severe Thunderstorm Watch” and an
onslaught of hail during the time we
would have been setting up caused us
to make the diffi cult decision to cancel
the highly anticipated performance from
the Blue Skies Big Band. You can rest
assured that they’ll be the fi rst group we
schedule for the 2020 season.
On the positive side, something that
started extremely well was the very fi rst
monthly “Breakfast Club!” Nathan
Knottingham from Knowledgecoop gave
a presentation about the “Dark Web” that
was both fascinating and a bit frightening!
Eighteen people signed up ahead of time
and thirty people showed up so we are
hoping more people will RSVP for the
next one on July 12 th .
The Chamber trip to Ireland in November
is SOLD OUT! Anyone interested in
going along with the Chamber group
can still be added to a “wait list” and as
soon as a spot opens up, we will contact
you to make the arrangements. Contact
the Chamber offi ce as soon as possible
to be put on the wait list. Speaking of
Chamber Travel opportunities, we’re
already looking ahead to choose possible
destinations in 2020. Options currently
being researched are: Italy, Costa Rica,
Portugal, Thailand, Spain and others.
There are numerous events happening
throughout the summer and many of them
are during the month of July. We’ve
printed the ones we know about in this
month’s newsletter but please check the
Community Calendar on the Chamber
of Commerce website (www.cgchamber.
com) for the most current information on
community events in our area.
We are excited to bring you weekly
entertainment throughout the summer for
your enjoyment. In addition local vendors
gather to offer a variety of food, craft, and
other items. Market hours are from 5pm
– 8pm. Concerts begin at 6:30pm. Bring
a friend and support your local vendors,
musicians and their sponsors by attending
the Wednesday evening activities. These
concerts are made possible with fi nancial
support through sponsorships so join us
and take a moment and thank them.

Interweaving searing guitar and dynamic
vocals, Pacifi c Northwest singer-songwrit-
er, Greg Nestler and his band have been
delivering their fi ery blend of R&B/rock
to audiences throughout the NW. Nestler,
raised in Southeast Portland, was fi rst in-
troduced to the musical arts at an early age
through tap dancing. It wasn’t until years
later that he began exploring his love of
blues guitar and R&B/soul music. The
duo was soon playing sizable festivals
throughout the Northwest (Portland Rose
Festival, Bite of Seattle, Bite of Portland,
and Taste of Tacoma). Whether rocking
with his band at a festival or playing solo
at an intimate show, Nestler guarantees
audiences a compelling performance of
his R&B/rock blended take on the modern
singer-songwriter.
July 10 - Inner Limits Band, Blues
Rock
Inner Limits is an energetic blues/
funk/rock group that weaves original
material and unique arrangements of
solid classic blues and rock songs into
each set. The group frequently headlines
regional craft beer and music festivals
and keeps a busy performance schedule
at wineries, breweries, and casinos. The
band consists of Jesse Greenlee on drums/
vocals, Olem Alves on guitar/vocals and
Torrey Newhart on keyboard/vocals.

July 17 - Rockin’ Reveleers, Classic
Rock
It’s been 56 years since Grovers Darryl
Wetzell and Steve Whaley fi rst lit the rock
‘n roll scene and will take to the stage
playing songs from your memories. They
will be joined by their good friends Rocky
Smith on keys & vocals, Johnny Inglish
on guitar/harmonica/ & vocals, Russ
Whitlach on Bass guitar, & Roy Eggleston
on drums. The Rockin’ Reveleers have
packed the place every time they play here
and this will be no exception.
July 24 - Corwin Bolt and the
Wingnuts, Ragtime
Corwin Bolt and the Wingnuts is a fi ve-
piece band playing Old-time, New-time,
Ragtime, and Bluetime; a harmonious,
banjo-free string-band, with whiffs and
riffs of old-time jive, gems of Country-
Blues encrusted with Country-Gold.
July 31 - Calvary Creek, 60’s and 70’s
Folk
If you grew up with American Bandstand,
you will enjoy the musical memories
from Calvary Creek. Specializing in
great harmonies and true-to-the-original
arrangements, this Cottage Grove-based
band will delight you with the happy,
simple songs and amaze you with the
complex, challenging ones. For over 5
years Calvary Creek has been making a
splash playing the big pop and rock hits of
the 60’s - 80’s, while occasionally dipping
a toe into other streams. So come on in,
the water’s fi ne!
Jeff Smith - vocals, guitars, harmonica
Kevin Hampton - guitars
Lance Quackenbush - keyboards, bass
Manley Anderson - bass, pedal steel guitar
Brad Helsel - drums
