On Dec. 6, an Oregon State Police
Fish and Wildlife Trooper from the
Roseburg Area Command responded
to the report of a poaching and tres-
passing incident that occurred on Dec.
5 in the Drain area.
Th e investigation revealed that a
large black tail buck deer was shot
within feet of a residence in Drain.
Th e event was captured on the home
security system. With assistance from
the Douglas County Sheriff ’s Offi ce,
subjects of interest were iden-tifi ed.
On Dec. 14, troopers and sheriff ’s
deputies contacted the subjects of in-
terest at their residence. Th e antlers
and head for a 4X3 black tail deer were
recovered. Th e meat that was recov-
ered from a butcher shop will be do-
nated to a charity.

Tinnes, 21, both of Drain, were lodged
at the Douglas County jail on charges
of unlawfully taking of a buck deer
with a prohibited method, weapon
and houses; hunting while in violation
of criminal trespass, criminal trespass
with a fi rearm and recklessly endan-
gering another person.

Vision Keepers
Committee Members Needed
Th e Vision Keeper Committee welcomes applications from
interested persons who would like to serve as an “at-large”
member of the committee (one-1 yr & two-3yr. positions
available). Applicants will be interviewed and then confi rmed
by the Cottage Grove City Council.
Th e role of the Vision Keepers is to monitor progress of
the Cottage Grove 2037 Vision Action Plan, encourage
implementation of actions, provide technical assistance or
support where appropriate, produce annual progress reports,
and recommend minor modifi cations to the plan as necessary.
Th e Vision Keepers will hold quarterly team progress meetings,
and will develop annual awards to recognize individuals
or organizations for exceptional service toward promoting
achievement of the Cottage Grove 2037 Action Plan.
