to the charrette as a community member
who had an idea for the nature park.
It doesn’t mean the track, which fell into
disrepair aft er the BMX program left town,
will not fi nd its way back to Cottage Grove.
Th e class, made up of 70 students, must
turn in 10 proposals each to earn credit at
the university.
“Th at’s 700 proposals, it could be any-
thing,” Mongan said.
According to the website managed by
the planning class, several ideas popped up
during the charrette including connecting
bike trails into a larger network, construct-
ing a bus stop and providing bike racks and
maintenance stations. Th e class ranked the
ideas according to priority and included sec-
tions ranging from bike paths to gardens to
recreation and education.
Th e classes proposals are set to be hand-
ed in by Dec. 4. To view the complete list

Facebook page he’s hoping
to use as a way to locate
other members of the pla-

Aft er the war, Rue settled
in Cottage Grove, as did
Clark. Bouche moved to
Eastern Oregon and Keph-
art recently passed away.
“I think it would be in-
teresting to see who is still
around in the Eugene area,
who is still here,” he said.
