COTTAGE GROVE SENTINEL OCTOBER 3, 2018
High School
sports recap:
VOLLEYBALL from B1
Cottage Grove’s Cassidy Herbert sends a spike over the outstretched arms of a pair of Marist
blockers last Thursday.
“She played really well. She’s
just been really working hard
and I think last year she really
came along quickly. And so I
think she’s starting to get that
groove again and reading the
hitters. There’s a lot of quick
sets back and forth and she’s
having to make good, smart
decisions but she’s going up
strong and she’s just a naturally
good blocker,” said Anderson.
In full control, the Lions
were able to cruise in the
fourth set to finish and on to a
victory. This game marked the
halfway point in league-play
for the Lions who are focused
on cleaning up the little things
for the rest of league and be-
yond.
“It’s just upping a little bit the
fine tuning. The fine tuning the
blocks, fine tuning when they
have a big hitter that we need
to stack on them," said Ander-
son. "And I think the feedback
from the girls there, that in-
volvement is really important.
Because they know the game
really well. They know the
game and they know each oth-
er now and so I think that part
as they’re working together as
coaches and team will contin-
ue to get better.
“That’s the thing, we’ve got
to keep getting better.”
