Cottage Grove area friends, family and neighbors gathered together to enjoy ice cream on a hot summer day last
Saturday (Aug. 25), when the City of Cottage Grove hosted the second-annual Cottage Grove Armory Ice Cream So-
cial. The event included an afternoon of snacks, music and classic games, as well as a street fairand demonstrations
from LifeFlight and South Lane County Fire and Rescue’s new fi retruck. Volunteers estimated 2,500 scoops of ice
cream were dished out on Saturday. The armory is looking for the public’s help in funding a major renovation b. For
